Unironically, my favorite thing I learned + worked on while at Amazon was their annual planning process so I started doing it for myself at the end of each year. Here’s my updated list for 2026 for external accountability (and visiblity if anyone wants to pair with me on any goals):

Health

  • Sleep: Prioritize getting 7+ hours of high-quality sleep/night and get resting heart rate <=50 again.
  • Marathon: Get a running coach this year. Run 5x for 40-50 miles per week. Get back to ~3:15 hour range for SF Marathon and CIM.
  • Muscle Endurance: Lift 3x per week, focus on preserving muscle mass, and improve muscle endurance so I don’t cramp during marathons.

Life and Relationships

  • Relationship: Have a baby, settle down and build a home, truly start adult life.
  • Responsiveness: Be better about being responsive and proactive at comms with friends.
  • Travel: Get a few more international trips in before settling down really happens.
    • Visit Thailand and Hong Kong with our parents and for weddings.
    • Check out Africa for the first time and see a safari finally!
    • Bike through parts of Europe to get some exercise and vino in.
    • Have a blast at my belated bachelor party trip during the summer.

Personal Projects

  • Fix my recent ADHD and read all the Stripe Press books I bought (~1-2 per month).
  • Continue shipping >3 git commits per day. Get to expert-level at agent-native coding.
  • Stop feeling as “directionless” after the acquisition and have a solid sense of what’s next by EoY.
  • If I read or listen to anything useful, record it for reuse later.
  • Post regularly for fun on social again after taking a long hiatus.

Career

  • Become a director of product within <1 year @ Amplitude and get stock to >$20/share.
  • Become an expert at applied agents, AI research, startup sales, and shitposting on social.
  • Build a content account to 25k+ followers on Twitter and/or LinkedIn.
